[ LUMIYRE x Mrs. Robot ]
A collaboration between LUMIYRE and Ms. Robot, born as a passion project between Ms. Robot's Nate Fu and studio: LUMI. It set out to join two disciplines that rarely sit at the same table, programming and mechanical engineering on one side, silversmithing on the other, and to see what they could build together.
What they built was a different way to advertise. Rather than photograph a finished piece, we made a machine to perform its making. Nate programmed the robot to move through a series of vignettes, each one tracing the steps of bringing a physical object to life. The result is a performance about performance, a work whose only subject is the act of its own creation. The advertisement becomes the process rather than the product, the precision and labor behind a piece of silver made visible, and made a little strange.
[ BELLUM PENDANT ]
A bridge between LUMIYRE and studio: LUMI. A fully functional safety pin rendered entirely in .925 silver, a study of shape held to its function. The silhouette follows the standard pin and extends it well past scale, so the piece drapes and hangs just above the center of the torso. Finished with a brushed surface and an engraved studio: LUMI symbol across the front of the clip.
