[ DEADWEST BOLO ]

A collaboration with jOONIVERSE, and a product of over two years of development due to the intricacy of its mold and hefty construction. The idea spawned during one of the first major design roadblocks I faced while building LUMIYRE. I visited Aboo in Texas, and through our conversations, the piece became a representation of our shared creative experience. The dichotomy of the Asian American creative experience in the West… something difficult to articulate, but possible to express through product.

A traditional bolo tie reimagined through the language of both houses. All finishing details have been rendered entirely in .925 silver. The fully custom front slide combines our respective iconography into one sculptural piece. The foundation is a traditionally braided black grain lambskin leather cord, finished with silver end caps engraved with delicate floral script illustrations. Production is limited to a run of 100, with each piece housed in a numbered box marking its place within the edition.
