[ Journey to the West ]
A collaboration between LUMIYRE and jOONIVERSE, centered around a custom .925 silver bolo tie developed over two years.
The title draws from the ancient Chinese story of pilgrimage and metamorphosis, where the journey becomes a process of transforming through obstacles.
For us, that idea reflected the process of making the piece itself. A western form shaped through our respective design languages, representing the dichotomy of the Asian American creative experience in the West.
[ DEADWEST BOLO ]
A traditional bolo tie reimagined through the language of both houses. All finishing details have been rendered entirely in .925 silver. The fully custom front slide combines our respective iconography into one sculptural piece. The foundation is a traditionally braided black grain lambskin leather cord, finished with silver end caps engraved with delicate floral script illustrations.
